Be a Coronado Historic Site Volunteer

The staff at the Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites have many volunteer activities you can perform for the site itself or you can join Friends and expand the nature of your volunteer activities.  The following lists are only a few of the ways you can help.

  • Historic Site Docent

    •  Docent Training  takes place in March 

      • There are five 3-Hour Weekly Sessions that take place at the Coronado Historic Site

  • Kuaua and/or Giusewa Pueblo Researcher

  • Historic Preservation Assistance

  • Grounds and Trail Maintenance

If you are interested in becoming a Friend of Coronado Historic Site here is a sampling of volunteer opportunities.  Is there a task on the following list that interests you? Contact us using the form below to ask a question or offer your assistance:


  • Gift Shop Sales PersonMeet interesting visitors as well as introduce them to many handmade gift items not available elsewhere.

  • Plan or Assist in Special Event Planning:  Arranging for Speakers, or Volunteer on an Activity Committee

  • Plan Day Trips, Overnight Trips, Hikes, or other similar activities

  • Serve on the Board of Directors:  Plan and administer Friends' activities in support of each site
